Ensuring Privacy & Trust: New Flyer from St. Mary’s Food Bank

At St. Mary’s Food Bank, we understand the importance of privacy and establishing trust when it comes to serving our community. Agency Partners that participate in Arizona Department of Economic Security (AzDES) programs, such as TEFAP and CSFP, are required to ask each neighbor receiving USDA commodities to prove Arizona residency and sometimes verify their age, depending on the program. We aim to ensure neighbors feel confident and their information protected as they participate in proper administration of government programs.

We understand that providing personal information can sometimes raise concerns about privacy and data security. To address these concerns, we have created a convenient flyer that outlines how their information is handled, ensuring that it remains protected and safe.

Our Neighbors Rights to Privacy

We believe in open and honest communication with our neighbors. It is important to us that our neighbors understand their rights to privacy as they seek food assistance. Our new flyer, “Client Intake – Rights to Privacy Flyer – USDA”, provides a detailed explanation of these rights and how their personal information is safeguarded. We hope this will give our neighbors peace of mind and help them feel secure when participating in USDA programs.

Strengthening Community Trust

Our goal is to make sure our neighbors feel safe and confident when visiting food distribution sites across Arizona. We want our neighbors to know that they can trust us with their information. By clearly communicating their rights and the measures we take to protect their privacy, we aim to build stronger relationships within our community.

Empowering Our Agency Partners

By providing this flyer, we hope to empower our Agency Partners. Clear and effective communication helps them address any concerns our neighbors might have, ensuring that everyone can participate confidently in government programs.

This flyer is available in both English and Spanish.

St. Mary’s Food Bank continues to seek opportunities to assist in the flourishment and success of our Agency Partners and we are committed to maintaining a safe, trusting, and supportive environment for all our neighbors.  If your organization would benefit by having additional marketing materials, printed resources, or online communications, please do not hesitate to contact our team.
