Rooting Resilience: Funding and Technical Assistance for Urban and Community Forestry Projects

Application Deadline: End of October

The Rooting Resilience Program, with funding provided by the Inflation Reduction Act and the USDA Forest Service, Urban and Community Forestry Program, will provide funding and technical assistance to community-based projects that build resilience and capacity for the planning and implementation of forestry projects. This opportunity is available for projects located in federally-designated disadvantaged communities, including urban, suburban, and rural. Special priority will be given to eligible groups that are seeking federal funding for the first time.

Community Food Projects Competitive Grant Program

Application Deadline: November 7, 2024

This notice identifies the objectives for Community Food Projects Competitive Grant Program (CFPCGP) projects, deadlines, funding information, eligibility criteria for projects and applicants, and application forms and associated instructions. In FY 2024 NIFA’s CFPCGP intends to solicit applications and fund two types of grants. The grant types are Planning Projects (PP) and Community Food Projects (CFP).

Specialty Crop Research Initiative

Application Deadline: November 8, 2024

The purpose of the Specialty Crop Research Initiative (SCRI) program is to address the critical needs of the specialty crop industry by awarding grants to support research and extension that address key challenges of national, regional, and multi-state importance in sustaining all components of food and agriculture, including conventional and organic food production systems. Pre-applications may only be submitted by Federal agencies, national laboratories, colleges and universities, research institutions and organizations, private organizations, foundations, or corporations, State Agricultural Experiment Stations, Cooperative Extension Services, individuals, or groups consisting of two or more of these entities.

FY 2024 Competitive Funding Opportunity: Tribal Transit Program

Application Deadline: November 13, 2024

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the opportunity to apply for $9,169,076 in competitive grants for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Public Transportation on Indian Reservations (Tribal Transit) Program under Assistance Listing Number 20.509. Eligible applicants under this program must be providing public transportation services in rural areas.

FY25 Guidelines for Brownfield Assessment Grants (Assessment Coalition Grants)

Application Deadline: November 14, 2024

The EPA’s Brownfields Program provides funds to empower states, Tribal Nations, communities, and nonprofit organizations to prevent, inventory, assess, clean up, and reuse brownfield sites. See Section III of the Notice of Funding Opportunity for eligibility information.

Systems Change Grants

Application Deadline: November 15, 2024
Presentations for Selected Applicants: January 27 – January 31, 2025

Systems Change Grants invest in efforts that positively address complex community health challenges and reduce structural and/or systemic gaps in health outcomes or opportunities. Grants awarded in three-year awards, up to 175,000 total.

Grant Opportunities Range in Funding & Application Deadlines

Founded in 1980, First Nations began its national grantmaking program in 1993 and through year-end 2023, they have successfully managed 3,385 grants totaling $79.9 million to Native American projects and organizations in 45 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. Territory American Samoa. Their grantmaking program provides both financial and technical resources to tribes and Native nonprofit organizations to support asset-based development efforts.

Arizona Economic Resource Center

Application Period:  Open Year-Round

The Arizona Economic Resource Center (AZERC) aims to enable eligible Arizona cities, towns, counties, tribal communities, and nonprofits to win and implement competitive federal, state, municipal, or foundation grants. An initiative of Local First Arizona, the Arizona Economic Resource Center provides the following services, free of charge, to qualifying entities: Grant Writing, Reviewing & Editing, Budget Guidance, Facilitation, Project Management, Economic Impact Analysis, and Strategic Planning.

Majestic Realty Foundation Grants

Application Period:  Open Year-Round

The Majestic Realty Foundation funds well-established service providers focusing on youth, education, family, health, and violence prevention in their core geographic markets. To begin the grant request process, nonprofit organizations with a focus and geographic reach matching the Majestic Realty Foundation objectives should submit in writing a letter of introduction.

JSF Indigenous Peoples Grant Program

Application Period:  Open Year-Round

JSF makes grants to organizations that help people overcome barriers to education and employment. Addressing these barriers enables them to graduate and find good jobs, thereby contributing to and enriching their communities. JSF assists people indirectly by making grants to schools, universities, and non-profits, and funds initiatives such as scholarships, mentoring, tutoring and internships.

Bashas’ Purposeful Giving

Application Period:  Open Year-Round

Bashas’ proudly supports causes that make significant impacts in our communities and align with one or more of our Purposeful Giving pillars, including Advocating for Good, Child Welfare, Environment & Sustainability, Food Access, Food System Education, and Total Wellness. Technical Assistance Partnership of Arizona

Application Period:  Open Year-Round

TAPAZ is a full-service fiscal sponsor focused on providing behind-the-scenes support to local nonprofits. Fiscal sponsorship allows TAPAZ to accept and disburse funds for projects and programs, allowing nonprofits to focus on carrying out their mission. TAPAZ provides the administrative services and grant support.

Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s Outdoor Fund

Application Period:  Open Year-Round

They invest in programs and initiatives aimed at: Conserving Wildlife and Habitat, Connecting New Audiences to the Outdoors, Advocating for Access and Sportsmen’s Rights, Supporting Military and Veterans, and Strengthening Communities in the Missouri Ozarks.

Cupertino Electric Inc. Donations

Application Period:  Open Year-Round

For nearly 70 years, we at Cupertino Electric have focused on delivering power and possibilities to customers and communities alike. As our company continues to expand and evolve, so has our giving program. With corporate charitable dollars, we primarily support nonprofit organizations focused on three areas: hunger, homelessness and early (K-8) education.

Blue Meridian Partners Grant

Application Period:  Open Year-Round

Blue Meridian Partners seeks to transform the life trajectories of young people and families in poverty by investing in strategies that advance economic and social mobility and equitable opportunity. They assist stand-alone nonprofits with a history of service to young people and families in poverty in the U.S., and are financially viable, with a budget greater than $1,000,000.

Arizona Together for Impact Grants

Application Period:  Open Year-Round

Arizona Together for Impact supports nonprofits across Arizona to pursue their missions through sustained collaborations with other organizations. They fund one-time, third-party costs to explore or implement a sustained collaboration: facilitators, consultants, lawyers, accountants, and/or other one-time costs necessary to complete a transaction.
