ST. MARY’S FOOD BANK
Kids Cafe: Summer
Kids Cafe operates the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) during the summer, which is a federally funded food program that provides USDA approved meals to low-income, school-aged children. All meals include protein, grain, dairy, fruits and vegetables as prescribed by USDA meal pattern requirements. The Freeze & Thaw model is for rural sites for which daily delivery of meals is not an option. Freeze & Thaw sites get monthly bulk deliveries of shelf stable and frozen products which also adhere to USDA meal standards.
